Information for Key workers - January 2021

Dear Key Workers,

Many thanks to those of you that have been in touch with information identifying yourselves as key workers and requesting emergency school places. By now, you should have received an email back from myself letting you know if a place has been made available. If you haven’t, please drop me an email.

Arrangements are as follows:

  • Both Penny Acres Primary School and Wigley Primary School will be open to the children of Key Workers between the hours of 8:45am and 3:30pm (3:15pm for Wigley) starting from tomorrow (Wednesday January 6th)
  • Parents must understand that the emergency provision is only for key workers whose work is CRITICAL to the Covid-19 response as identified in the communication you have already had with myself.
  • The temperatures of these children must be taken before departing for school.
  • Children will need to be handed over to a member of staff on arrival. No children are to be left on the playground unattended.
  • Uniform is optional. Trainers and wellies are a good idea as children will get the opportunity to be outside regularly throughout the day.
  • At this moment in time, a school lunch can be provided as per the usual methods. If this arrangement changes due to staffing levels and inability to run the kitchen you will be notified and a packed lunch will need to be provided.
  • Please note, provision in school is simply delivery the same remote learning package that everyone else will be accessing at home.
  •  Attendance for these children should cease if they show any symptoms associated with COVID-19.

Kind regards

Mr D. Ratcliffe
